About Our Live Edge Hardwood Slabs

 

 

This live edge hardwood slab is part of our fully searchable inventory at Big Ass Slabs, offering premium wood slabs for furniture makers, woodworkers, designers, and DIY builders across Ontario and Canada.

 

Nearly all of our wood is locally sourced within an hour’s drive of our shop, supporting regional suppliers and ensuring responsible material selection. Many of our slabs have been diverted from waste or firewood streams, giving exceptional hardwood a second life as custom furniture, dining tables, desks, countertops, and statement pieces.

 

All slabs are carefully processed to ensure quality and stability. Each piece has been air dried, then kiln dried to appropriate moisture levels for interior furniture use. Slabs are surfaced flat and sanded to 60 grit, providing a clean starting point for final sanding, finishing, or fabrication.

 

Because every slab is unique, natural characteristics such as knots, checking, grain variation, and minor surface cracks are part of the beauty and authenticity of solid wood. These features make each slab ideal for custom live edge tables, epoxy projects, bar tops, and one-of-a-kind furniture builds.

 

We photograph and list every slab individually so you know exactly what you’re purchasing. Inventory is available for local pickup in Ontario, and we can assist with shipping options across Canada.
